Innovative and certified
ElephantSkin gloves are treated with the active ingredient silver chloride which effectively reduces enveloped viruses and bacteria on the glove surface. The silver ions of the treated glove surface prevents viral and bacterial growth. All ElephantSkin organic cotton products have the primary function of being a sustainable alternative to disposable & throwaway items.
Comparable to impregnation, the silver chloride is washed into the ElephantSkin products. The technology is OEKOTEX certified, made of sustainable, recycled ingredients and is allergen-free and non-irritating to the skin.
ElephantSkin gloves are treated with a unique combination of advanced silver and vesicle technology. The silver emits silver ions to inhibit bacteria and enveloped viruses on the fabric surface. The vesicle technology depletes the virus membrane, allowing the silver to attack the core of the virus more efficiently and quickly.
The antibacterial and antiviral properties of our products are continuously tested and confirmed by the recognized Hohenstein Textile Testing Institute. (Antiviral properties according to ISO 18184 and antibacterial properties according to ISO 20743).

To indicate the antiviral and antibacterial treatment of our products, they are marked as "goods treated with biocide". The effect is regularly tested and proven.
The claim and labeling of ElephantSkin products as treated goods have been confirmed by the Hohenstein Textile Testing Institute as compliant with EU Biocide Regulation 528/2012.
The biocide used is registered in accordance with regulations with the German BAuA (Federal Office for Occupational Safety and Health) in classes 2 and 9.
